Artist Statement
I am currently studying for a Masters in Fine Art at the University of the West of England. I also have a degree in History and Archaeology and an interest in the past is a theme which recurs throughout my work. My process is concerned with the notions of collection, the mundane, repetitiveness and obsession, which I realise by creating my own collections in the form of small paintings. I feel that the repetitive, cyclical nature of painting, from the priming of the small boards to the painting of the figures lying, sitting, or running within the confines of the frame is mirrored by the repetitive, limited lives of my subjects.
